Iowa State Fair

I guess I'll start my new blog location with a post about the Iowa State Fair. My 3rd favorite time of the year (behind Christmas and Autumn, respectively). Some years e will go out to the fair alot and some years, we will only go out to the fair once and a couple of years ago, we weren't even in town and missed the whole thing.

This year, I decided to try my hand at entering a few pages and a mini album in the Paper Crafts/Scrapbooking competition at the Iowa State Fair. I entered last year and surprised myself by winning an Honorable Mention ribbon with one of my scrapbook pages. This year I wanted to try and best that and win one of the money places.

Much to my surprise, this year I won two 1st place BLUE RIBBONS! I won the 1st place blue ribbon in the "Scrapbook Page - Use of Embellishments" with the layout below of my niece Chloe.

The best part of the whole thing is the $140 worth of gift certificates I won to various scrapbook stores in Central Iowa...Yoo Hoo!!

Connor and I are on vacation this week. Today was a chill at home day. We have been on the go and out in the heat and sun for 3 days straight and I think we both needed a day to chill in the air conditioning. I got some grocery shopping and laundry done but that's about it. We have some fun stuff to do this week and are just going to enjoy being at home. Later.....
